Brown Bag Lunch for Actuaries (ASOP)

In March 2013 the Actuarial Standards Board (ASB) approved a revised Actuarial Standard of Practice (ASOP) No. 1, which became effective for all actuarial services performed on or after June 1, 2013. This Standard provides important new definitions of words such as “must”, “should”, “may” which effect ASOP 2 through ASOP 47.Using materials provided by the American Academy of Actuaries we will have a dialogue over what the revised ASOP means to actuaries.Though certainly a bit esoteric for the non-actuary members of WP&BC, all members are welcome to attend. It is intended our meeting will constitute an organized activity as defined under the current Qualification Standards for Actuaries Issuing Statements of Actuarial Opinion in the United States.
